Introducing our NEW
SOUND WELLNESS
SELF STUDY PROGRAM
We know that individuals respond very subjectively to music. Many of us already use music to change our mood. Yet it's not common knowledge that music creates specific physiological responses in the body and mind. Certain kinds of music can improve focus and concentration, connect and synchronize hemispheres of the brain enhancing creativity, boost the immune system, lower blood pressure, speed and enhance learning and memory, decrease pain, decrease stress hormones, cortisol and adrenalin, and effortlessly create the relaxation response in the body.
With this program, you will learn and experience how music and sound manipulate major body rhythms, relieving symptoms of stress. You will be able to improve your focus and concentration. Learn and experience how sound can quiet the mind into deep meditative states. Boost your immune system with sound and guided meditation. Learn ancient and sacred vocal techniques to keep your body, mind, emotions and spirit in balance. Learn how sound can ease emotional release.
All without any prior musical experience!
We have captured the essence of our full 2 day workshop in a series of 11 CDs, and our 48 page workbook so that you can work in the privacy and comfort of your own home, free from the stress and expense of travel. Listen to the CDs on your own schedule, and review them as often as you like.

More about this Course
Participants in this course will build a repertoire of physical experience and knowledge of sound as a healing and balancing tool. There is no musical experience required for any of these classes.
Within 5 minutes of walking into a store or environment where music is playing, most people’s heartbeat will match the beat of the music. This in turn affects the breathing and brainwave rhythms. In this class, we will experience music with specific intentions to reduce stress, put you to sleep, increase focus and attention, and so on. Psychoacoustic music intentionally manipulates major body rhythms for a positive or specific effect. Experiencing how this music affects you and the scientific support behind it will give you a strong basis from which to make decisions about the music you choose to listen to and what effects it will have.
Brainwave Entrainment music is one type of Psychoacoustic music. It is treated separately because of the specific effect of the technology used in the recordings. Participants will experience different brainwave states; what they feel like in the body and how they are induced by the sound. Although these recordings produce a similar effect as the ones in the psychoacoustic category, people generally respond differently to the sound and the feeling states the music produces. This knowledge allows you to feel the difference between the two categories and whether or not this is a healing tool that is useful to you.
Singing bowls produce similar effects in the body and mind to recordings within the two categories above, but from a more physical approach. Participants will feel the effects of the bowls by listening to a variety of bowls and experiencing their sound. Singing bowls affect the mind in a similar way to brainwave entrainment music.
We all naturally use our voice to help us feel better. Groaning and sighing are two examples. This class introduces simple and easy techniques to use the voice to help bring the body and mind into balance.
This class is a continuation of the previous one. We will be learning and practicing the ancient vocal technique of vocal harmonics or singing two notes at once. This is an extremely powerful and sacred sound. Again, there is no musical background necessary to experience these techniques.
Studies show that the combination of guided meditation and sound are more effective at boosting the immune system than either guided meditation or sound alone. This is an effective way of creating the relaxation response in the body. A major stress-buster.
This class will begin with some of the science behind emotions in the body. We will then experience how sound and voice can be used to help unwind emotional blocks whch have become stuck in the body.
This is a blissful experience in receiving sound and intention from others. We provide instructions and examples of how this is done so that you can experience this with a group of like-minded people.
This section will also introduce you to some of the other sound tools in common use.
